Bwisagu — The Boro Festival of Spring
Bwisagu is the most important festival of the Boro people, celebrated to mark the arrival of spring and the Boro New Year. The Delhi NCR Boro Thunlai Afad organized a vibrant celebration bringing together the Boro diaspora community in the national capital.
The event featured traditional Boro dance performances, folk songs, and cultural programs that helped keep the rich heritage alive among the diaspora community. Members of all age groups participated enthusiastically, making it a memorable occasion.
Significance of Bwisagu
Bwisagu is celebrated on the first day of the Boro calendar month of Boisak (April). The festival is a time for joy, new beginnings, and community bonding. Traditional foods, music, and dance are integral parts of the celebration.
Community Participation
Over 100 members of the Boro community in Delhi NCR participated in the event, making it one of the largest gatherings of Boro people in the national capital. The event also attracted guests from neighboring states and dignitaries from Bodoland.
